These weren't just fur coats though, they were beautiful constructed and interestingly designed, with detailing collars and sleeve shapes.
The colour palette was very calm and wintery with pale creams and coffees accented by metallic embellishment.
Over sized jackets were balanced out with skinny trousers, that create a feminine twist on androgynous tailoring. I love the unusual balance of putting asymmetric strap tops under loose tailoring. Belted jackets have also been everywhere this season and ADA picked up on that.
There has been so much 'teamed down elegance' for A/W 09. I loved ADA's version of putting super, detailed, almost tribally embellished skirts with simple nude toned twin sets. This transports an evening look to day. Next season is all about maximising your wardrobe and buying versatile pieces. Dress up for day time ladies, you will feel fab and you can run out for drinks after work!
Wet look leggings are apparently here to stay. I know you invested in them, so you want to get your wear, but still really?! There are so many girls wearing them (that shouldn't be) and for that reason alone I'm itching to see the back of this trend. However I am really into the new sheer blouses that have popped up everywhere, with slightly antique colouring and prints this is a delicate look teamed with edgier pieces.
Again fairly structured shoulders and interestingly, sleeveless coats!
