Roving Reporter . . . Thursday night POUT!

Goodness, fashion parties are like buses, for a while there are none and then they all seem to come at once! Thursday saw a networking event from POUT (an excuse for fashionistas to get together, catch up and have some drinks), this time in association with my favourite magazine 'RANDOM MAGAZINE', which, now on it's second issue is delighting the fashion and arts crowd with its 'Out-There' photography and sleek style, it is an image and inspirational bible of great quality images of the hippest creatives in the fashion pack.

This months POUT (run by cute and chic, fashion fabulous Miggy) was held at 'fake bake' hell, Movida. From past fash-pack experience, it is well documented that Movida is not our usual hangout, but as we started early, we had the place to ourselves and with the music at an audible volume, we had the chance to chat and drink in peace.
Several vodka-cranberries later, the usual suspects were all there. Buttons and the Undercover Sales Clerk, Nikes and myself were joined by several new faces, namely Dalston Doll (who will soon become a contributor to the blog) helped me dance (well sway woodenly) away.
We checked out the outfits, we swapped some business cards and were mercilessly chased and photographed - Dalston Doll really had her pout and poses down.

By 11.30pm, the WAG stylee ladies had started to arrive and Buttons quite rightly remarked how they looked 'so young' - now we are not old, but when the crowd start to look like they should be tucked up in bed with a hot cocoa, something is definitely up.
There were plenty of dodgy outfits and it did resemble a badly put together, bargain bin, at River Island, too many sequins and not enough class. This was compounded by the girl walking around, literally in a bikini, so not fashion!

We took this as our queue to leave and as I took one look around the club, at the girls waiting to pounce on the over paid bankers that frequent such establishment, I sigh in relief that this is so not my scene.

Roving Reporter . . . Movida

Right now, I have to say I am pretty pissed, so any spelling or grammatical errors, well quite frankly, YOU try blogging while under the influence! (There should be laws against it quite frankly.)
Tonight one of my favourite hot new designers, Manjit Deu, threw a shindig at Movida, well actually they threw it for him, so after a few drinks in the trendy Phoenix pub, the fashion crowd headed over to Movida.
The 'WAG style' ladies, were quite intimidating and unfortunately we lost Brogues to illness, she looked hot but felt crap! We were also without Flats, and Heels (see I promised I'd get you in there!) was no where to be seen!In fact we were positively shoe-less! But we vowed to go on and party.
Once inside, I have to say I was astounded. The club was huge, the drinks pricey (but tasty) and the girls, well lets be honest, a little bit tacky. It was Cheryl Cole, mixed with Council Estate Chic, but if thats your bag then head on down! Naturally the fashion crowd were cooler and we boogied away to free cocktails (a bit crap tbh) and good 70' disco.
I even spotted DAVID WALLIAMS dancing and getting his leg up on the bar (tres flexible!). There was also KATE MOSS  - (spotted by my Buttons! - well done, we all doubted!)
who was dressed in a full sequined, structured, shoulder number, by Shaun Leane . . .

(she was also trying to desperately get her leg up on the bar)
Oh and an extremely pissed off JODIE HARSH in a fab sequin hoodie, who was marching around looking ready to punch someone!
Music was a perfect mix of old school and chart topping songs, to keep everyone on their feet! Buttons, Ginger and I, indulged in cocktails & partied hard, but apparently only I got pissed!
Worthy of mention were the two, hot, body popping boys, who put their suited and booted counter parts to shame, with their dance moves (money isn't everything!) and . . . The chav-tastic chick in a mini, denim-print skirt and knitted halter neck top, seriously luv, 1990 is so not hot right now!
But all in all, to fit into Movida, takes a certain type of girl . . . and lets just say . . .
'I'd rather eat cake, than wear to much Fake Bake!'

The Scene . . . The Cobden

Goodness me, do my feet hurt! That will teach me to try and spend a whole night swaying to the latest bands in 6 million inch wedges! The night began with shed loads of free vodka, I honestly thought on more than one occasion that I was going to end up flat on my face! We drank delicious raspberry cocktails, laced with Russian Standard Vodka and with free drinks, the fashion pack were not far behind! The evening was hosted by a humorous drag queen at the members club 'The Cobden' in West London, it was quite frankly in the middle of nowhere - (mind you, anywhere without a constant stream of black cabs seems positively Suburbia to me) but had excellent decor, comfy seats, oh and too many stairs!

I spent the night with the infamous 'Heels' - yes my Carmen Electra, dancing diva is back! Black Boots (who had actually ditched the black for stunning electric blue and sky scrapper stilettos), my assistant 'Brogues', the gorgeous Nico Didonna, Buttons (you will have to look her up) and Stylista. We drank far too much Vodka for a Monday night in honour of 'Nikes' - see all the old crew pop back up. 'Nikes' is the editor of a very cool mag, as well as being a superb photographer of all things weird and wonderful and we had all gone to raise a glass to his work!
Alongside the drinks, the evening entertainment consisted of some fab musicians, (I have to get Nikes to send me their names! so you can all look them up!) The first girl had and amazing voice and was a sort of country and western version of PINK. Up next was the act that got us up on our feet! After a rendition of Jungle Book medleys, this super energetic, lanky, 40's dresses, white dude, kinda rapped in the most melodic fashion, totally brill! (- for you heels).

Lastly, but by no means least, 'The Ruskins' (no I have no idea what that means) took to the stage. Band member Eamon had unfortunately too much to drink, it was good and it was kooky, but I think next time, put them on earlier and keep them away from the booze!
The night ended, as many do, with a fisticuffs between a guest and Drag Queen, and unfortunately 'Nikes' and another pal, (who we shall call) 'Flat Cap' got caught up and given a fat lip and a back injury (in that order). Word to the wise, its a private guest list, it will be found out who you are! Don't start fights, don't hit the host, we are not Rock and Rollers! This is fashion darling!
